A Lifetime of Teaching and Learning

I've spent the entirety of my adult life in the field of education working as a teacher, literacy coach, reading interventionist, and individual tutor. I've spent the majority of that time as a faculty member at competitive independent schools, working alongside colleagues and families to support students with a variety of learning profiles.

A Parent

As a lifelong teacher, who also happens to be the mom of three school-aged children, I have been on both sides of the conversation. It has been extremely valuable to know what it feels like to be a parent in a meeting, and how crucial open communication can be.

Private Tutoring

I am currently working full time in an all boys school as a reading and academic skills specialist. In response to an increased need for individual tutoring as a result of the pandemic and school closures, I have also started to work with students and families privately.

I've spent almost twenty years advocating for and collaborating with students, especially those possessing unique learning profiles including ADHD, executive function challenges, and language-based learning disabilities. I offer a professional, discrete, and personalized approach to students and the communities that support them.

About me

Communication is key.

Success in school is contingent on effective and consistent communication between student, family, and school.  Everyone wants your child to succeed; getting all parties on the same page is key.

Lifelong Learning

As an educator, I embrace growth mindset, and wade into unfamiliar waters in order to grow. We live in a changing world, and I work to push back on ideas that can limit and marginalize students who learn differently. I seek new perspectives, and work to check my own privilege and bias. Often it is my students and their families that inspire me in new directions.
